Doubt comes in and strips the paint
Doubt comes in and turns the wine
Doubt comes in and leaves a trace
Of vinegar and turpentine
Where are you?
Where are you now?
Doubt comes in and kills the lights
Doubt comes in and chills the air
Doubt comes in and all falls silent
It's as though you aren't there
Where are you?
Where are you now?
Orpheus, you're shivering
Is it cold or fear?
Just keep singing
The coldest night of the coldest year
Comes right before the spring
Doubt comes in with tricky fingers
Doubt comes in with fickle tongues
Doubt comes in and my heart falters
And forgets the songs it's sung
Where are you?
Where are you now?
Orpheus, hold on
Hold on tight
It won't be long
'Cause the darkest hour of the darkest night
Comes right before the dawn

Nearly Beloved
by Jakob Dylan
Last night I dreamt one thousand lies
I could see the dawn through a different set of eyes
There in my slumber passing time
Long live the world resting on its side
I walked the orchard with you
Your hand in mine
In the evergreens drinking wine
I saw the snow fall in black and white
From the auburn sky
Last night I lived more than one thousand lives
Not one of them survived
Up through the earth at dawn I came
I crossed the kingdom through venom-pouring rain
When the vacuum of my own brigade
Resurrected to make you mine again
Orpheus looked back once
She sailed the underworld
No second chances will be earned
I have returned as a phantom now
To walk the bow and stern
Last night I lived more than one thousand lives
Not one of them survived
If we could do better, I know that we would
Maybe admit it now: we're not that good
We keep the needle between zero and one
You play your fiddle, I'll play dumb
Into the pastures of our minds
Goes my nearly beloved and I
Blazing two parallel white lines
Through this broken heart spilt open wide
Time may be on my side
But it's mostly far behind
I was the apple of your eye
Now I'm the boy spinning on a wheel
There stuck with knives
Last night I lived more than one thousand lives
Not one of them survived

Don't Look Back
by Zooey Deschanel
Orpheus melted the heart of Persephone
But I never had yours
I followed you back to the end of the path
But I never found the door
And you can work to save your love
You can bear it from the earth below
You can work, but you can't let go
But you have to know
Don't look back, all you'll ever get
Is the dust from the steps before
I don't have to see you every day
But I just want to know you're there
Quietly took to the dark of the day
And the hiss of the summer night
The heat of the breeze was a cell block wall
And when I looked, you were out of sight
